New Orleans native Robert Rodriguez has lived and worked in the Los Angeles area since graduating from Chouinard Art Institute in 1969. As a freelance illustrator originally specializing in advertising illustration and cover art for record albums, Rodriguez’s work has evolved to include book illustration, magazine illustration, movie posters, and computer program packaging.

His movie work includes posters for The Jewel of the Nile, The Two Jakes, and City Slickers II, as well as video covers for Hud, War and Peace, Robin Hood, and Animal Crackers. He has also created posters for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Super Bowl XXVI, the 1994 NBA All-Star Game, and three Royal Caribbean Classic/PGA Tours.

Rodriguez, who has received numerous awards for his art, has exhibited his work in many group shows across the country. He has also been a guest lecturer for various professional organizations and colleges. His designs for the Postal Service include the 1998 Cinco de Mayo stamp issued jointly by the U.S. Postal Service and the Mexican Postal Service, 13 stamps for the 1980s Celebrate the Century issuance (2000), the 2003 Cesar E. Chavez stamp, and four stamps for the 2010 Cowboys of the Silver Screen issuance.
